The American Diabetes Association puts on many fundraiser events
throughout the year. These events give the Association the opportunity to raise
money, but also participate in fun activities within different communities.
The two signature events the Association hosts are Tour de Cure and Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes.
Tour de Cure is a series of fundraising cycling events
held in 44 states nationwide to benefit the Association. The Tour is a ride,
not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the
experienced cyclist. This event makes for a fun day on your bike and supports an
amazing cause. To learn more about Tour de Cure, click here.

ReplyDeleteJade, Diabetes has always been on my mind since it runs in my family and I believe it tends to skip a generation each time it afflicts a person. My Grandmother had it and my Mother did not. My wife's father has it as well. I go for my physical every year and always specifically ask about it and the results of my test.
ReplyDeleteI am interested in all the events you posted, so thank you for that. It is good top know that many are concerned and interested in seeing diabetes stamped out forever. I think the walk would be fun to participate in ... once we have time and all finish school :) .
Hello Jade,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I had no idea there was a walk for diabetes. These fundraiser events do not get the same publicity s other disease such as the various cancers. I know a lot of people living with this diabetes. It was reported in 2014 that 29 million people in the United States have diabetes. Clearly, there needs to more attention brought to the illness so we can find a cure for this as well. Great Post!
